Prior to founding Accelerant Partners, Mike was a Managing Director at Thomas H. Lee Partners where he built the operating team (the Strategic Resource Group).   He worked with management teams across a variety of companies including Ceridian, inVentiv, GCA, Intermedix, Comdata, and Phillips Pet Supply.  He remains a director of Alfresco Software, Inc. and Material Handling Systems, Inc.

Mike was a founding member of Impala Partners, LLC, a boutique investment and consulting firm for fifteen years.  While there, the firm advised both banks and companies regarding bankruptcy restructuring, started both an Indian Private Equity firm and a hedge fund, advised companies in aggregate transactions of over $3.5B, purchased  and subsequently sold both a company with $750MM in revenue and 10 Hanover Square in NYC.

 

Prior to Impala, Mike was CFO of Aetna Property Casualty and held a variety of positions during a fourteen year career at General Electric including VP and CFO of GE Mortgage, VP in GE's Corporate Restructuring Group, head of GE Financial Services Financial Planning & Analysis/Strategic Planning, and GE Corporate Audit Administrator.

Over his career Mike has been involved in a wide range of operational and M&A efforts spanning industries such as Aerospace and Defense, Aircraft Engines, Telecom, Investment Banking, Insurance, Software & tech services, Financial Services, Business Serves, Healthcare, Media and Retail.  

 

His experience includes:

      - Sold or purchased (as a buyer or a representative) companies with TEV of more than $15B;

       - Realized over $1.5B of cost savings through process improvement or off-shoring;

       - Purchased and sold RGIS, a market leading inventory services company, and doubling EBITDA on flat revenue;

       - Recovered 1.4X par from a large Enron SPV loan through the sale of the U.S., Argentine, Philippine, Columbian, and Brazilian assets;

       - Co-founded a premier Indian private equity firm with four funds totaling over $1 billion.

       - Transitioned Ceridian from a bureau-based payroll company to the industry leading Human Capital Management platform.

       - Turned inVentiv clinical around, enabling the sale and subsequent public offering of the business.

Mike holds a B.A., cum laude, in Mathematics from Colgate University and sits on the boards of Material Handling Systems LLC; True North Managers, LLP and Alfresco LLC.  He previously was on the boards of Phillips Pet Supply LLC; Intermedix LLC; and The Robert Plan.  Mike holds 7 US patents and has 2 pending.
